Microsoft Corp. will launch the web browser Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) today, Thursday (19/3/2009). Applications can be downloaded from the Microsoft site since at 09.00 Pacific time.
The newest version that’s used by largest user in the world can be downloaded for free for those using Microsoft operating systems. IE8 has been undergoing testing into the public for a year.
Microsoft, the largest software companies in the world, says IE8 will run with Windows Vista, the latest operating system release Microsoft, Windows XP, which is also still widely used.
Based on the latest survey by information technology consultants Janco Associates Inc., the Internet Explorer market share 72.2 percent, far above the Mozilla Foundation’s Firefox with 17.2 percent. Chrome output while Google Inc. is the market of 2.8 percent, while Apple Safari owned less than 1 percent.
